This Privacy Policy explains how the CodeDirector desktop application ("CodeDirector", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use its video publishing features to post to YouTube and TikTok. CodeDirector is a single-user desktop application that runs entirely on your own computer. We do not operate any server or backend that receives your data.

1. Information the app accesses

When you choose to connect an account and publish a video, CodeDirector accesses only what is needed to perform that action:

YouTube (Google): with your authorization under the youtube.upload scope, permission to upload a video file to your own YouTube channel with the title, description, and tags you provide.
TikTok: with your authorization under the video.publish scope, permission to post a video to your own TikTok account. The app also reads your creator information (such as your nickname and the privacy options available to your account) solely to display an accurate posting screen before you confirm.
Authorization tokens: the OAuth access token and refresh token issued by YouTube/TikTok after you sign in.

CodeDirector does not request access to your followers, messages, watch history, analytics, or any other personal data.

2. How information is stored

Authorization tokens are stored only on your own computer in a local file (for example ~/.codedirector/publish-tokens.json or the application's user-data folder). They are never transmitted to us or to any third party other than the respective platform (YouTube or TikTok) during upload.
We do not have any server, database, or cloud storage that receives or holds your account information or tokens.
The video you publish is a file created by you on your own computer.

3. How information is used

The information above is used for one purpose only: to publish the video you explicitly choose to publish, to the account you authorized, at the moment you click to publish. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any secondary purpose.

4. Information sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone. The only network transmission is the direct, encrypted (HTTPS) communication between your computer and the official YouTube and TikTok APIs to authenticate and upload your video.

5. Data retention and deletion

You are in full control of the stored tokens because they live on your machine:

Delete the local token file to remove stored credentials at any time.
Revoke CodeDirector's access from your account settings — Google account permissions for YouTube, or TikTok settings → Security & permissions → Manage app permissions for TikTok.
Uninstalling the app removes the app; deleting the token file removes the credentials.

6. Third-party platforms

Publishing sends your video to YouTube and TikTok, whose own privacy policies then apply to the content on their platforms: Google Privacy Policy, TikTok Privacy Policy.

7. Children's privacy

CodeDirector is a professional developer tool and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect any information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
